Cloughfern Credit Union (Ballyclare branch)
Cloughfern Community Credit Union began in 1989, some 30 years ago. It is run by a Board of Directors who are all volunteers from the community. The credit union has been operating in Ballyclare since 1995 in the Ballyclare Community Concerns building on the Doagh Road. In 2013 it bought and refurbished the First Trust Bank Building on the Main Street.
The credit union offers a savings facility, loans to members at a low rate of interest, a Death Benefit Scheme which clears loans in the event of a death and a Death Benevolent Scheme which pays £1500 to the members beneficiary on their death.
